Henry’s of Palm Beach Dials Up the Nostalgia

The Via Flagler by The Breakers restaurant invites guests to get comfortable.

Henry’s of Palm Beach, the most anticipated restaurant of the year, recently opened its doors in the new Via Flagler by The Breakers,  breathing new life into Henry Flagler’s vision of Royal Poinciana Way as the main street of Palm Beach.

“We wanted Henry’s to be comfortable, warm, and inviting—unpretentious yet refined,” says Nick Velardo, the resort’s vice president of food and beverage. “It’s not a special occasion restaurant but a place that will hopefully engage everyone.”

Featuring interiors by famed restaurant designer Adam Tihany, Henry’s is surrounded by arched windows, bathing the interior in natural light and affording a view of the street and interior courtyard. An island bar greets guests upon arrival; there’s also a large communal table, a spacious dining room, and 24 seats on the courtyard terrace.

The Breakers describes the cuisine as “elevated comfort food with a hint of nostalgia” (think chicken pot pie, spaghetti Bolognese, and beef Wellington on Friday and Saturday). The wine list, designed by Master Sommelier Virginia Philip, features options that are both high-quality and recognizable, while the collection of craft beers is sourced from breweries ranging from Key West to the Treasure Coast. The pre-Prohibition era is invoked by cocktails such as The Industrialist (Angel’s Envy bourbon, Carpano Antica vermouth, cherry, and orange bitters).

We hope Henry’s will be the anchor restaurant on the newly redeveloped Royal Poinciana Way,” says Velardo. “It’s a simple place but beautiful in its simplicity.”
